Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II Leads For The Planting Of 320,000 Seedings On Green Ghana Day
As part of this year’s edition of the Green Ghana Day which falls today aimed at planting seedling trees in all the 16 regions in Ghana , the paramount chief of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council , Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama ll has led for the planting of trees in the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area in the western north region.
Joined by the Sefwi Wiawso forest district manager, Mr Raymond Obeng Boamah , a deputy chief executive officer of the Forestry Commission, Hon Martha Kwayie Manu, also a former District Chief Executive for Juaboso, together with chief director of the western north regional coordinating council, the regional manager of the Forest Services Commission, the various heads of departments of the regional coordinating council, the police , heads of various educational institutions, workers and staffs of the forest services commission, students amongst others made the Green Ghana Day exercise a very colourful and memorable event.
Stressing on the theme for this year’s Green Ghana Day exercise, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama ll encouraged the good people of Sefwiman and Ghanaians to continue planting trees and monitor the growth of the trees.
Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama ll who is a member of the Forestry Commission Board commended the government through the Lands and Natural Resources ministry for such an initiative and admonished the citizens to be extra vigilant and protect the forest for future .
Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama ll who is also a member of the Council of State entreated the good people of this country to take tree planting exercise very serious since it protect the environment and gives life and help in the ecosystem.
