Bill Asamoah. (born William Asamoah-Addo) is a Ghanaian actor, producer, and director.
Career success in the film industry:
Bill Asamoah has in his two and a half decades as an actor received numerous awards, with the current being a nomination for the Actor of the Year Award category for the 8th EMY Africa Awards.
He has won numerous awards and nominations from The Kumawood and Akoben Film Festival, the Ghana Movie Awards, the Ghana Movie Excellence Awards, the Golden Movie Awards, and many more.
In 2019, Bill Asamoah was appointed the tourism ambassador by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Having started his acting career in theatre arts, some of his early performances were Death On Trial, The Tears of Lucifer, Atobra, etc., and were directed by Dr. Daniel Appiah-Adjei, in the late nineties at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.
He first came to prominence in the TV series Hotel St. James in the early 2000s and Run Baby Run, a film from REVELE FILMS.
Asamoah’s early film roles include; Sika from Miracle Films Productions, Mother’s Heart, and Love Birds by Venus Film Productions.
Bill Asamoah who also doubles as a businessman holds a Masters’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Cape Coast and a Public Relations Specialist as well.
He is currently the Regional Chairman for the Ghana Actors Guild in the Ashanti Region.
As a family man and practicing Christian, Bill Asamoah popularly known on social media as the “Darlynbill” hails from the Worakese Royal Bretuo family of Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region.
