Self-Acclaimed Chief Running Away From Court Injunction
Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III was served with a court injunction; in response, he filed a response indicating that he was prepared for the court to try the case. However, he was refused to appear before the court on Friday, October 20, 2023, and no one else represented him in person.
The case, E12/36/2023, concerns the commerce hearing on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Sefwi Wiawso High Court. It concerns the injunction suit filed by the Acting President and Members of the Aowin Traditional Council regarding the stance taken by the Chieftaincy Minister, Hon. Asamoah Boateng, regarding the chieffftaincy issues that are pending resolution in court.
The Chieftaincy Minister, Hon. Asamoah Boateng, wants to proceed with the court to carry out an activity whose legality is currently before the High Court at Sefwi Wiawso, which is yet to be determined. The Acting President, Members of the Aowin Traditional Council, and residents are not happy about the steps taken by the Minister.
They claim that it seems as though Beeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III does not respect the law court and the traditional council that he seeks to govern. The council members want justice to be served since they consider his attitude to be unclear and insulting. He has to be called to order so that he doesn’t impede the course of justice with his regrettable and discriminatory behavior.
For the Court to decide on the matter so that justice and peace can rule in Aowin, the Acting President and members of the Aowin Traditional Council wish to bring the matter to the public’s attention. They want to inform the public of how Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III and his associates have disregarded the court’s injunction and will continue to breach orders.
