Amenfi East: MCE Joins Fatmers To Celebrate 39th Farmers’ Day At Wassa Akoreso
The Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Frederick Korankye joined our gallant farmers whose toll played an important role in the development of Amenfi East.
In his address, Hon. Frederick Korankye acknowledged agriculture as a key sector in realizing the United Nations sustainable development goal which requires that we seek sustainable solutions to end hunger in its all forms.
The lesson of COVID-19 has created quite a new sense of awareness about building strong food resilience and other than depending on imports.
Hon. Frederick Korankye’s focus is to see agriculture as a business that responds to the economic growth of the Municipality and Ghana at large.
Hon. Frederick Korankye took the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of our gallant farmers in Amenfi East Municipality and also encouraged them to work and produce more to feed the Municipality and the country at large. Hon. Frederick Korankye again appealed to the agricultural extension officers to continue with their dedicated and selfless assistance to our farmers in Amenfi East.
The Municipal Agric Director suggested that individuals and institutions adopt various categories of the farmer’s day award to make it unique just as Amenfiman Rural Bank and Persus Mines are sponsoring the overall best farmer award.
