The Next NDC Government Will Give Amnesty To Galamsey Convicts-Adum Bawuah Hinted
A Member of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ashanti Regional Communication team member and Personal Aid to the Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC in the Ejisu Constituency Madam Jerrney Asante, Mr. Adum Bawuah has hinted that the next NDC government will give Amnesty to convicted galamsey operators who were jailed by the Nana Addo, Bawumia administration following various mining activities.
Speaking on King Tom TV, the Cabinet Show, Adum Bawuah who double as the Reseaech Officer for Ashanti Regional Cadres, estimated that if there is anyone supposed to be in prison due galamsey offenses, it should be Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia and their allies.
According to Adum Bawuah, the current government are the kingpins of galamsey quoting Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s galamsey report, stressing that the report mentioned some key NPP members who are engaged in the illegal mining activities and have not been arrested eithe to talk of prosecution…because he who goes to equity must come with clean hands. But what are we seeing, the galamsey kingpins are still walking freely on the streets indidecating the active endorsement of illegal mining by Nana Addo Bawumia NPP-led government.
The regional cadres research officer reiterated that, those illegal miners in prison are also Ghanaians like Nana Addo and his NPP chorts and deserved equal treatment when it comes to National concern.
However, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s next government would ensure Ghanaians, especially the youth in the mining sector are treated equally under his watch.
