Small Scale Miners In Oda Mining District Hails Minerals Commission’s Boss For Office Building Complex
Miners mainly small scale artisanal miners have commended the Chief executive officer of the Minerals Commission, Mr Martin Kwaku Ayisi for his innovative skills and ideas through the initiation of an ultra modern office facility for the Oda District to help the speedy facilitation of mining activities documentations in the eastern region.
The miners could not hide their joy when matcommedia.com online news paid a visit to some communities such as Akim Akrofufo, Abomosu, Tweapease , Kade , Asuom, Wenchi, Tumfa, Awenare, Akim Osino , Edwenase , Heman, , Nsutam, Kibi , Anyinam, Asaman Tamfoe, and Kwabeng where mining is mostly the only source of livelihood to the teeming youth.
According to majority of the residents in these communities visited by the news team from matcommedia.com, the minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor and his deputy in charge of mining, Hon George Mireku Duker through the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo needs to be highly commended for introducing the Community Mining Scheme which has since its inception in the year 2018 has offered opportunities to the teeming youth in the mining communities to operate Responsible Small Scale Mining.
The miners further hinted that , the Community Mining Scheme has come to stay and there is need for the government through the Lands and Natural Resources miMinistryo support the people in the mining communities to have access to mining concessions through the Minerals Commission by blocking some portions of already acquired mining concessions belonging to some Large Scale Mining Competitions for them to operate Responsible Small Scale Mining.
