Banka Chiefs , Youth and Opinion Leaders Throw Their Weight To Back Community Mining

Community Mining Scheme which was introduced by the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo through the Lands and Natural Resources ministry in the year 2018 to replace illegal mining ( Galamsey ) activities.
Today under the NPP led President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo’s administration more Responsible Small Scale Mining Community Mining Schemes have been commissioned through the Lands and Natural Resources ministry which is still counting.
The chiefs , elders , youth as well as opinion leaders in Asante Akyem Banka of the Asante Akyem south municipality in the Ashanti region are appealing to President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, though the Lands and Natural Resources ministry to commission a Community Mining in the Banka community which all the necessary requirements have been putting in place to help create employment opportunities to the good people of Banka and its surrounding communities.
At a press briefing at Banka on Tuesday 23rd July 2024, the Nifahene of Banka , Obibinisebroni Nana Kwakye Swanzy IV, together with the Krotihene , Ohuatreni Acheampong, and the Benkumhene , Nana Osei Ababio all thrown their backing and total support for the Community Mining Scheme Commission in Banka to help create employment opportunities to the teeming youth in the community which they the traditional authorities believe will go a long way to curtail the Galamsey activities.
