Residents of Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya Notth of the Ashanti Region of Ghana are raising red flags threatening all forms of resistance against what they alleged as unlawful, abuse of power and lack of accountability in the Barekese community by Nana Amoapong Brenya.
The residents in a press briefing expressed their grievances stated that, Nana Amoapong had unlawfully ganged up with the old unit committee members and some selected persons in the community downplaying the development failing to account for the community to the detriment of creating disunity among residents.
Addressing the media, a member of the elected unit committee, Mr Kwame Ofori expressed worry about in which, Nana Amoapong is mismanaging the community stressing that, the entire community including himself (Nana Amoapong Brenya) agreed per the district assembly art that, unit committee members are to collaborate with the traditional authorities in the collection of revenue in the community and portion shall be disbursed to the district assembly.
However, Nana Amoapong Brefa decided to ignore the current elected unit committee members for the collection of the revenue and opt for the old unit committee members. Which, according to the residents, is a skeptic move being orchestrated by Nana Amoapong to undermine community development and the elected unit committee members for personal gain.

Mr. Kwame Ofori alleged that Nana Amoapong Brenya failed to account for monies collected in the community.
According to Mr. Kwame Ofori, before one is permitted to bury a dead body, an amount of Ghs1,200 is charged and paid to Nana Amoapong Brenya yet, what due to the assembly is withheld. Mr. Kwame Ofori alleged.
In an attempt to resist the mismanagement and untransperancy conduct of Nana Amoapong, the current unit committee chairman, Hon. Bismark Beeko was alleged to have been arrested by Nana Amoapong for challenging his authority and directives in the community.

Mr. Kwame Ofori and other aggrieved residents, also laid wild allegations against the District Chief Executive, for backing the Unlawful conduct of the chief stressing that, they were given the the red-light by the district revenue director to collect revenue but the DCE denied knowing the directives.
Through all these mismatches of activities and conduct of Nana Amoapong Brenya and his allies, they deem it a privilege to plead on behalf of His Royal Highness, Otumfou Osei Tutu II, to as a matter of national interest and that of the Barekese community, call Nana Amoapong Brenya and the DCE and other individuals who have ganged with the Chief to order so as to avert violence in the Barekese community.
In an attempt to authenticate the authenticity of the allegations from the chief, Nana Amoapong Brenya on his MTN telephone number proved futile.
