He lauds the government led by the President, H. Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the initiative aiming at providing good roads for our communities.
The gesture, according to him, will create jobs for the youth within the country. Adding the machines when start work, will provide accessible roads to various key institutions like hospitals, workplaces and emergency areas in terms of disaster occurrence.
Responding to why the government couldn’t secure the machines earlier, Hon. Michael Kwasi Aidoo splendidly explained that, government business is a gradual process and the plan was orchestrated based on the well-thought brain child research of the vice president, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to provide the 275 constituencies with machines to enhance reshaping, grading and construction of roads in the communities.
Speaking during the launching of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Hon. Aidoo reminded his constituents that, the machines are going to improve the development for easy business transactions and safer movement in the constituency.
On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Oforikrom, Mr. Abraham Kwame Antwi addressing the and sundry estimated that the nationwide programme by the president, Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia, Oforikrom Municipal also get its fair share. However, the machines are going to help the rank and file of Oforikrom Municipality irrespective of our political divide. That not said, roads are the lifeline of any nation and they connect us to work, school, and hospitals and link us together. More importantly, roads encourage the growth of every nation.
Addressing community members and political activists underscore that, good roads help reduce insecurity. Hence government deemed it privileged to provide good roads for the citizenry.
According to the chief executive officer, since the inception of the NPP government, over 12,800 kilogrammes roads have been constructed across the 16 regions. For the Ashanti Region alone, the government has constructed over 2,000 kilogrammes of roads in the region signifies how committed the NPP government is intend fixing the country’s road network.
He thus assured the government the president and his vice to make good use of the machines to achieve its intended purposes. And challenged the constituents to cooperate with the Municipal in their course of work.
