Ashanti Regional NDC Sets To Hit The Streets With “Enough Is Enough” Demo Tomorrow
The National Democratic Congress ( NDC) Branch of the Ashanti Region has told journalists that, the party in the region is set to hit the principal streets with “Enough Is Enough” Demonstration tomorrow 17th September, 2024.
The Regional Secretary of the Party, Dr. Frank Amonkobene in a press briefing reminded party sympathisers, supporters and well-meaning citizens to join the party at its regional office, Amokom to express their displeasure regarding some discrepancies associated with the 2024 provisional voter register.
According to Dr. Frank Amonkobene, the Party (NDC) has taken notice of some illegal transfers of voters in some parts of the Constituency in the region which need to raise concern to effect correction to those regularities in the register.
Addressing the media, Frank Amonkobene highlighted some of the issues to discuss during the demonstration as:
1. The correction of the dubious voter transfer list, which has been inflated across the region, compromising the accuracy of the register,
2. A rectification of the illegal transfers carried out by the Electoral Commission (EC) outside the designated transfer period and without the consent of affected voters.
3. An explanation and reconciliation of discrepancies between the voter register provided by the EC to the party and the one exhibited during the voter exhibition exercise.
The party in the region also cited instances at New Edubiase where some of the polling station figures were bloated.
The nationwide “Protect My Vote” demonstration is to let the world know about the robot leadership style of Jane Mensah-led EC that, they cannot circumvent the will of the people and every legitimate voter is constitutionally mandated to vote come December 7th general election.
He however called on the rank and file of Aanteman to join them in exercising their constitutional right without fear or favour.
