Go And Preach Peace To Your Electorates-NALAG Secretary Charges Assembly Members
The General Secretary for the National Association of Local Authorities Of Ghana (NALAG), MR. Kokro Amankwah has charged assembly members in the country especially, those in the Ashanti Region urging them to make 2024 elevtions as their topmost priority by way of informing electorates the needvto approach the polls with peace.
Mr. Kokro Amankwah was addressing the media during the Ashanti Regional Delegates Conference under the Theme; Building Bridges, Building Peace, underscored that, the association has constituted viable campaign strategies aiming at enriching every nug and cranny with the message of peace, transparency so as to shun tendency that might associate with the 2024 election.
Mr. Amankwah stressed further revealed that, the outfit prime aim is to spread the message of peace through press conferences, meetingvwith the clergy, the Muslim community, Chiefs and other peace organisations so as together they can achieve a common goal.
That notwithstanding, their campaign train will also visit spotlight areas which pressume to be associated with violence during election days in their quest to instill the message of peace.
“The prime objective is to ensure there is peaceful elections before, during and after the polls”.
Mr. kokro Amankwah also appealed passionately to the industry players who are the political parties to conduct their campaign activities with decorum in devoid of insults, personal attacks so as to win together sincebthe only cpuntry we wantbto role is the same Ghana and we cannot plunge the nation into hostage because one political party want to role us.
The NALAG Regional Delegates Conference was also to elect Ashanti Regional representative. However, after delegates decision, the assembly man for Ahinsa Estate, Hon. Nana Yaw Weredo was edoorsed by popular acclamation as the regional representative of NALAG.
