Ghanaians Want Free And Fair Elections- Asante Akyem NDC PC To EC
The parliamentary candidate for Opposition National Democratic Congress in the Asante Akyem Constituency, Hon. Chief Kofi Asamoah has urged the Electoral Commission’s (EC) led by Jane Mensah and her deputies that, Ghanaians want peace and its very prudent for them to do the needful and comply for the forensic audit of the provissional voter register.
Speaking to the press during the nationwide “Enough Is Enough” demonstration exercise in the Ashanti Region. ..stresssed the need for the EC to adhere to the honorable call by the NDC and audit the register.
“What this demonstration mean is to speak to the EC that enough is enough with admancy and the only language they understand is demonstration”.
The December 7th election is a crucial to the NDC and Ghanaians to accept problems associated with the register.
The behaviour of the EC in simply language means, they are up to something negative with the intention to disfranchise eligible voters in the upcoming election which will not serve the interest of the suffering masses.
” What the good people of Ghana needs is for the register to be free, fair and transparent going into this year’s crucial polls”. He noted.
The 2024 parliamentary candidate, Chief Asamoah said, this demonstration exercise is inline with EC’S refusal to permit a forensic audit on the register after the NDC Director of Election identified regularities associated with the register.
However, he reminds the EC that, the peace of the country is more paramount than individual parochial interest and lies in their hands and if anything untestefull happen during, before and after the elections, Ghanaians will hold Jane Mensah and her accomplished accountable.
