A group calling itself, Asanteman Youth For Culture and Development has waged a serious war against journalists especially Media General for making unguarded statements against His Royal Highness Otumfou Osei Tutu II.
In a press conference to press down their displeasure, failed to outline categorically of what the offenses or mention names of Media General actually say or do to amount their trouble but only mentioned Onua Tv where female journalists of the station were seen/head making unpalable remarks about the King of Asanteman.
Addressing the media, a member of the group, Kwadwo Osei Hyiaman sounded so angrily demanding Media General expecially Onua Tv to as a matter of urgency summon themselves before Manhyia Palace or regret being making such remarks on Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
According to Kwadwo Osei, in recent days, some journalists want to drag Otumfou’s name in the mad to achieve personal gains and that will not work under their noses.
Kwadwo Osei Hyiaman and the entire group was not only furious at Media General alone, but some chiefs in the Western North, Ahafo Region among other places are using their positions as regional house of chiefs representative to undermine and abuse paramount chiefs within their regions. Such power-drunk, according to the group, is a calculated attempt to disrespect Otumfou Osei Tutu II’s orders and powers invested in him as the King of Asanteman. Additionally, all these regions falls within the rule of Otumfou and will not lose guard to protect, defend and fight for His Royal Highness’s integrity.
