MTN-Ghana Announces Launching Of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2024
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s leading Telecommunications network, MTN -Ghana, Mr. Stephen Blewett has announced the launching of the outfit Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2024.
According to the CEO, Cybersecurity is a share responsibility in this interconnected world. Added, the idea is to protect the digital landscape and equip staff with knowledge and tools needed for secure online environment. MTN Ghana is continue to enhance its cybersecurity efforts to safeguard its digital ecosystem.
He noted that, MTN Ghana is also collaborating with the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications to foster discussions on the latest trends, threats, and best practices in cybersecurity. The partnership aims to engage stakeholders in churches, mosques, and schools on topics such as managing misinformation, digital parenting, and online safety.
On his part, the Chief Information Officer for MTN-Ghana, Mr. Bernard Acquah, also highlighted on the importance of cybersecurity, saying, “Cybersecurity is a fundamental aspect of living in the digital age.
He noted, MTN is dedicated to empowering the community with knowledge and tools for online safety.
The theme, ‘Living with Security,’ reflects this commitment.” He encouraged participation in the Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities and stressed the need for proactive digital security measures to address evolving online challenges.
In a press release signed by Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, MTN Ghana has commemorated the Cybersecurity Awareness Month to educate the public, encourage safe online behavior, discuss emerging threats, and foster cyber resilience over the years.
