APP Leader Slams Dr. Bawumia Over Religious Comments
The Leader and founder of Action People’s Party (APP), Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah has slamed the flagbearer and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his unguarded religious campaign comments that if a Muslim vote for John Dramani Mahama is Haram.
The vice president’s comments is uncultured, tribalistic and a recipe to chaos. For Dr. Bawumia to make such unparalleled assertion to amass votes is uncalled considering the significant religious balance in the country. Dr Bawumia is a treat to democracy and development who have taken the Ashanti Region for granted so long.
According him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over years, have benefited so much in the region, and have taken them for granted as a bastion of support. However, It’s time we reconsider our allegiance and demand accountability and progress. He hinted.
Mr. Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah assserted that over the years, the NPP has made numerous promises to the people of Ashanti Region, promising infrastructural development, job creation, and improved social services. Yet, many of these promises remain unfulfilled, leaving residents frustrated and disillusioned.
He estimated that, a party that have enjoyed the region as its stronghold, could not mention any monumental project done for the region. Mentioned the Kumasi Central Market phase 2 project which has been abandoned after its commercement, the Krofrom market has been left to rot, road network, healthcare and many sectors suffered development.
Addressing the media in a press conference at the regional party office in Krofrom of the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwame Asamoah expressed his disbelieve of how Nana Addo and Bawumia’s government managed to spend $58 million on the most expensive dug-out while His Royal Highness Otumfou Osei Tutu II is going round soliciting for $10 million dollars to fix the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The APP Leader told the media that, the NPP has destroyed the nation and Asanteman. For Dr Bawumia to spend 15 days in the region trying to lure voters to his favour because he has new policies, and that they should vote for him is non starter. Eight years down line of the NPP government, what is the share of Asanteman national cake? “If the NPP thinks they have done enough deserves to be given another trem, then, Asanteman demands infrastructural accountability.
“For someone who claimed to be an Asante to make such unguarded comments that if a goat is decorated in an NPP colours, the people of Ashanti Region will still vote for the NPP, is an afront to Asanteman and its time for the region to take note of this disrespectful demeanour and vote against the NPP in the upcoming election”.
The people of Ashanti Region deserves better not just political rhetoric; they need actionable plans and results not insults.
