Ghana Needs Divine And Holistic Leadership To Fight Corruption-Elder Ofori Jnr
The Leader of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies sited at Esereso-Feyiase in the Bosomtwi District of the Ashanti Region, Elder Enoch Ofori Junior, said the current state of Ghana needs a divine and holistic leaders to put the country in a good state.
Speaking to a Mammoth crowd of congregation during the church’s end-of-year Camp Meeting at its headquarters, Elder Ofori noted that, combatting corruption and transforming the country has to build from strong moral and ethical leadership, which is essential for addressing systemic issues within the country.
According to Elder Enoch, leaders who are viewed as having a spiritual mandate may be more likely to hold themselves accountable to a higher authority…and such accountability can act as a deterrent to corrupt practices.
Ghana has built strong institutions and policies aiming at combating corruption and misappropriation of public funds but it seems to be failing due to leadership challenges. However, Elder Ofori noted that the country today need leaders with a strong sense of purpose, particularly those who frame their leadership as a service to the divine to be more dedicated to societal improvement. This vision can help align their policies more closely with the needs of the people.
Reading the sermon to end the year under the theme: Come, Draw From The Wells Of Salvation, expressed that the country needs a sustainabile change because corruption is often entrenched in institutional practices, requiring committed leaders who are willing to enact sustainable reforms. After all, divine leaders are capable of enacting deep, meaningful changes due to their moral authority. Alleged corruption allegations have eroded public trust in institutions. And leaders must do well to restore that trust in the citizenry.
Elder Enoch Ofori Junior tasked the entire citizenry to play a significant individual role with a spirit of self-centeredness and divine discipline in their quest to contribute their quota in supporting the President-elect, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, so that together, we build a better nation for all.
Our dear country Ghana is blessed with so many natural resources and there’s shouldn’t be any circumstances for us to struggle to develop the nation. But corruption and nepotism that have bedevilled with our leaders, the nation is still where it is today.
