Ashanti Chapter Of Young Cadres Marks 43rd Anniversary Of 31st December Revolution With A Call On Party To Remember The Grassroots
The Ashanti Regional Chapter of the National Democratic Congress Young Cadres of United Cadres Front (UCF) has celebrated the 43rd anniversary of the 31st December Revolution in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking at the 43rd-anniversary celebration of the 31st December Revolution, the regional coordinator, Maxwell Deku, lauds party sympathizers and supporters for working tirelessly toward the party’s historic victory.
He averred that Cadres believes in the principles of probity, accountability and social justice. The 43rd anniversary was formed as part of plans to take stock after the victory to make sure the NPP in the Ashanti will have no room to operate as their political stronghold again in 2028.
Addressing Cadres, he admitted that the outfit has contributed significantly to the party’s historic win and would not relent in their quest to regroup for the 2028 election. Even though the party just won the elections, they are not leaving any stone unturned in constituencies that were projected to win but failed. They will not lose guard of their search to win those constituencies coming 2028. Hence, it’s necessary to start the search now than ever.
The 2024 elections cannot be settled on the conversation that Ghanaians didn’t come out to vote but the abysmal performance of the ruling party that angered Ghanaians to come out overwhelmingly and vote against the NPP. The turnout was massive, and cannot be settled on voters apathy.
Maxwell Deku, the coordinator, used the event to thank the rrank-and-file cadres and whoever contributed to the overwhelming victory of the party, urging them to maintain the same level of hardwork as they prepared for 2028.
The NDC beliefs in the principles of the people’s manifesto ensuring that those who live in the deprived communities have access to good healthcare, and better living standards…that’s the sole aim of the NDC. He went ahead to caution leaders who will get the opportunity to occupy positions to ,as a matter of urgency ,think of the grassroots who toiled with their lives and resources for the party to come to power so as together, they build strong and united party ahead of another victory come 2028.
“Young Cadres have contributed immensely towards the party’s victory and will make sure the people’s manifesto works to the betterment of the Ghanaian people”.
On his part, the former Deputy Chief of Staff, and former deputy Minister for Water and Natural Resources, Johnny Osei Kofi said, the 43rd-anniversary elebration is to reflect on the activities and significant ccontributions made by the former president, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings during the 31st December Revolutionary which the NDC and Ghanaians are now enjoying.
He stressed further that, the event is to rekindle the spirit of young and old cadres who have worked their hearts out…their efforts are recognised and instrumental in the party’s success story and cannot be overemphasised.
He however reminded members of how destructive the ruling party, NPP caused the nation and asssured cadres of the party’s willingness to fix the mess caused by Nana Addo Bawumia after January 7th 2025 when H. Excellency John Dramani Mahama takes over the presidency.
